The Unbearable Right To See and Be SeenCasula Powerhouse Arts Centre , Dec. 8 - Apr 28 2024The Unbearable Right to See and Be Seen explores the relationship between self representative image making and the gaze - inviting an internal examination of the values we assign to the images we create and consume. References and raw material include the early photographic representation of women of the Levant by the French Bonfils studio, women in pop culture imagery, personal photographs and footage filmed on Dharug Country and Lebanon.
